They say it’s your birthday…

It’s been a big year for Apple. The company turned 30 back in April, OS X hit its fifth birthday in March, the iPod turns five today, and the Macintosh is on the cusp of its…er… 23rd birthday (which, I point out with some alarm, is older than most of our contributors). Our siblings over at Macworld and Playlist have gone iPod crazy—you’d think they make their living on this stuff. We here at MacUser are taking a more sedate approach; it’s not iPodUser, after all. Okay?

Oh, who are we kidding? I passed the hat around MacUser HQ, and we all chipped in to get you this card. It’s your day, iPod: enjoy it. Go out and get yourself a nice case, or some spanking new headphones. Tomorrow it’s back to the “what will you do next?” grind.
