While I won’t post every time a car receives iPod integration, as the posts would never end, I thought this one was particularly interesting and important. The 2007 Caliber has an aux-in and a MP3 holster built right into the car. Although technically the whole get-up is marketed generically as an “MP3 Audio Jack,” it’s no secret what device DaimlerChrysler is targeting. Their marketing materials show a video iPod in the holster, and it just so happens to fit the iPod perfectly.
Perhaps most significant is that the car has a starting price of under $14,000—one of the lowest priced cars with complete iPod integration. The car also has a ton of other cool features, such as a built-in flashlight, drink cooler, and “tailgate” speakers (like a boom box)! See the Playlist article on the car as well.
