My ride needs to be pimped. Desperately. Don’t get me wrong, I love my ‘97 Honda Accord, but it needs some serious—as the kids say—blinging out. No tinted windows, no custom rims, not even any sort of hydraulic system. I’m almost ashamed to drive down the streets of Boston. It doesn’t even have iPod connectivity.
Hardly a challenge for MTV’s Pimp My Ride, which the Miami Herald reports will be integrating iPods into a third of its, um, pimpings in the coming season, including a 1990 Toyota Celica with a 2 terabyte storage system. We’ve discussed iPod connectivity in cars before, but you can also consult Apple’s full list of options, which includes—oh joy!—the Honda Accord. But, as the Herald notes, “Achieving true connectivity takes varying levels of effort… depending on whether the car is a hand-me-down from Dad or a stylish new whip.”
Whip? When the newspapers start using terms you’ve never heard before, you’re clearly too old. Time to hang up my pimp hat.
