Now, in my car I use an aging Sony cassette tape adapter to listen to my iPod—it may be a little ghetto, but it gets the job done. Short of buying a new stereo or new car though, I didn’t know what my options were for finding a superior connection option.
Over at CarDomain, user Joe Padula has modded his 2002 GMC Denali’s tape deck into an iPod dock. Crazy. This procedure is obviously not for the faint of heart, but the result included an Apple button that switches source to the iPod and a working eject button that will undock the iPod.
I am drooling with envy. Which, incidentally, is making a mess of my MacBook.

Holy crap I have wanted one of these for so long.
How do you control the iPod if it's inside a deck? Or can you use the regular deck buttons? In that case that's really cool.
