Apple nano-izes the iPod packaging

Nano boxWe mentioned briefly that Apple was reducing the size of its iPod nano packaging, but we’ve found the first image of the new box on Apple’s store. Not only is it a lot smaller, but it’s transparent—which makes sense, since it will allow consumers to easily pick which color they want. In addition, Apple has stated that they’re going for a more “environmentally friendly” approach to packaging. Good to see they haven’t sacrificed their eye for design.

Somehow, they’ve also managed to miniaturize the nano’s power adapter, though it doesn’t come included with the new nano. In the vein of slimming things down, the nano ships only with earbuds, a dock adapter, a USB 2.0 cable, and a quick start guide. All of which can pretty easily be slipped into the new box.

Where have I seen this type of packaging before, though? Ah yes, now I remember.

Update: Fixed link at the end.

The link doesn't work. You can't direct link to anything on the Apple Online Store. I've found this out when I've tried to email a link to someone.
