Wired News is reporting that both Gizmodo and 9to5Mac received a “takedown notice” from those friendly lawyering folks down in Cupertino in regards to a purported leaked image of the new widescreen iPod nanos.
Ironically, the only sure way to know the truth in an Apple rumor is to receive a takedown notice from Apple Legal. That’s what happened to both Gizmodo and Apple news site 9to5Mac, who posted leaked images of a new, big screen iPod Nano (which we already covered here)
Of course, as with any Apple rumor, take this one with a grain of salt.
That said, a revamped nano isn’t out of the question, given that they’re currently going on the refurb store for $99, and haven’t been updated in quite awhile.

That iPod looked like it was magically squished into an inelegant shape. You never know with Apple, but those 9to5mac folks seem kind of pretentious to me... I'm eager to see what the new nanos will look like.
This just doesn't strike as a very apple looking design, it is simply too boxy and crowded. I hope this isn't the future look. I am looking forward to the new iPod revision though. My iPod is starting to have troubles and is severely short on space.
