Once upon a time, Apple released iPod Reset Utility 1.0. Then Apple released iPod Reset Utility 1.0.1. Then Apple released iPod Reset Utility 1.0. screeeeech Wait. What?
Ok, technically the name of the old utility was “iPod shuffle Reset Utility” and the new one is plainly “iPod Reset Utility”, but the new one only applies to iPod shuffles as well (new and old). The older utility was particular to the first generation. In any case, should your shuffle become really wonky in some way, this software acts like a smack to the back of the head, trying to put some sense into your iPod.
I think I’ll hold out for the next version 1.0, named “iPod Utility”.
