Some day, every piece of technology around us will work perfectly with iPods, Macs, and all things Apple. Well, at least in my fantasy. But, today another step forward in an iWorld has been made, with the new VW iGolf car (the link is in Spanish, for a translated version, click here).
The VW iGolf is essentially the VW Golf car with an iPod dock in the front armrest, which is, obviously, totally integrated into the car’s soundsystem. Oh, and the iGolf comes with an 8GB nano to boot. Nice.
While, the iGolf looks like a nice car, it’s still pretty amazing to see an iPod accessory that’s a car. Now, all that’s left is the iHome, that comes complete with an iPod, iMac, and Apple TV.

It's an iHouse with no Windows...
In my country, Italy, you can choose such a connection on all the VW cars, as optional. Average price €220,00
I bought a Golf Match in January which came with the iPod integration system in the armrest as standard.
You can have up to 5 playlists on the iPod which will play via the car's stereo.
Unfortunately the system can not display track name, only track numbers, but it is a nice and easy way to take a heap of music with you.
I have a 8gig 2nd Gen Nano working in there, unfortunately the adaptors from VW where not updated for the 2nd Gen, but it plugs in ok, just has a load of space around it in the slot area.
too bad is a VW... it would be like using iTunes on a Dell PC.
Do they do this in america?
Because I am going to buy a GTI soon and I really want this.
Yup; too bad this is for a VW. This should have been for the only German automobile company that matters: BMW.
I am planning to buy Jetta next month...
Is it posible for me to install that kind of stuff as my VW Accessories?
