Those nutty folks at SendStation are at it again. First it was the PocketDock, then the Dock Extender. Now, they’ve unveiled their next handy iPod accessory: the PocketDock AV.
If you’ve got a video-capable iPod then you’ve probably at some point experienced the frustration of trying to watch video on its tiny screen. Sure, you could carry around Apple’s AV cables, but the video produced from the headphone jack and carried over composite connections is sub-par. On the other hand, you could carry around a full iPod dock, but that’s a little on the bulky side. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a middle ground?
That’s where the PocketDock AV comes in. This little dongle clips onto your iPod’s dock connector and provides line out, USB, and S-video ports. Better yet, the included cable is an all in one solution that lets you use any of those, or composite video should you be stuck some place with no S-video connection. And a built-in extension will let you connect the PocketDock AV to your iPod without pulling it out of its protective sheath. Very slick. It’ll be available soon from SendStation for $37.
