With only a week to go until the Stevenote and the start of the Macworld Expo, many Apple-fans have turned to CES coverage to appease their gadget-thirst. But, CES has more than just HD video and Windows-only gadgets; there’s also a slew of iPod gear. Here’s a roundup of some of the iPod accessories that have been announced so far at the show:
JVC has announced a pair of new iPod docks at CES this week. The first, the JVC NX-PN7, offers ports for two iPods, so both can charge at once and be played through the dock’s speaker. In addition, the dock sports an AM/FM tuner, clock, and timer. The second dock, the RA-P31, is a clock radio along with an iPod dock, FM tuner, backlit display, calendar, and speakers with a virtual surround mode. Both products will be available in April, for $149.95 and $99.95, respectively.
Belkin also released some new products at CES. The first, the RockStar, is a device which allows people to listen to multiple MP3 players with multiple headphones at once, allowing for a more “social” experience of music. Up to five MP3 players or headphones can be attached to the device in addition to a cable for connecting a single MP3 player. Belkin also announced two new iPhone-compatible products, the Tunebase FM and TuneCast Auto, which are designed for playing the iPhone through your car’s speakers with just the push of a button. The TuneBase FM will be available in April for $99.99, and the TuneCast auto next month for $79.99.
Sure, they may not be touchscreen Macs or new Cinema Displays, but these iPod accessories should keep you occupied until the opening day of the Macworld Expo.
