iPhone roundup, or: Eric Schmidt, and iPhone dock, and a battery walk into a bar

iPhone crushI know you, like me, must be tired of the constant barrage of iPhone news. Hard to believe we have to suffer through nine more days of this. Anyway, in order to cut down on our iPhone intake (and output), we will now attempt to cram—like so much graham—a ton of iPhone news into a single post. Drumroll, please.

Remember how Google CEO/Apple board member Eric Schmidt didn’t have an iPhone? Problem solved.

Along with this morning’s announcement of YouTube on the iPhone, Apple has revamped the look of the iPhone section of their website, complete with new pictures, some of which show the iPhone dock that was glimpsed ever-so-briefly in Steve’s keynote at Macworld in January.

On Monday, Apple revealed that the iPhone’s battery had better performance than initially reported. If you’re wondering how exactly they came up with that information, you can hop over to the iPhone’s tech specs page, which explains in detailed footnotes how the testing was conducted. You’ll note many, many caveats.

Another iPhone spoof commercial popped up on Gizmodo this morning, this time suggesting that the touchscreen may be a fingerprint magnet.

Feeling ill yet? Somebody stop the world, I want to get off.

Nice how the iPhone uses a white dock and earbuds which in no way match the silver-gray-black aesthetics. Maybe if they'd charge more (a la the MacBook), they could make a matching set of black earbuds and a dock...

Can it not just come out already? I mean I'm tired of speculation. I want to know already.
