It’s a wee bit hidden still, but you can get to the App Store on iTunes if you’ve downloaded version 7.7. Hop over to the iTunes Store, and in the search box, type the name of an application, like “Remote” or “Twitterrific.” Once you’ve done that, you can click on “App Store” in the hierarchy at the top left, at which point you’ll be in the glorious land of iPhone/iPod touch applications!
I’ve already downloaded a handful of apps to try out, but as we’re still waiting on the iPhone 2.0 OS software, I can only gaze soulfully at the list of beautiful icons and mime swiping, tapping, and pinching.
Soon, my precious, soon…
TUAW has posted the download link (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4955.20080710.bgt53/iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw) for the iPhone 2.0 software update.
How many different versions of iTunes to get what we want??
If you update to the newest version of itunes the App store isn't hidden now. But it still needs the update. :( Oh well I can plan ahead for tomorrow morning.
