A couple of months ago, we heard the news that Think Secret had reached a settlement with Apple and, as per the terms of the agreement, would stop being published and be completely shut down within the next two months. As we reach the two month mark, the flap has largely died down and the famous rumor site quietly bid goodbye to the Internet today.
What used to be the late website’s homepage now gives you a dreaded “403 Forbidden” error. The crusading Sherlock Holmes of the Mac community has stowed away its magnifying glass and handed over the reigns to several other enterprising contenders for the crown. It’s the end, folks. Let us observe a moment of silence for the departed website. May it be archived on an Xserve and rest in peace forever.

reins, not reigns
Oops, sorry! :p
If what's being passed is the crown, 'reign' (no 's') is the correct word.
But if it's the magnifying glass that's being passed, 'reins' is more correct.
The main difference here is the "spin". Since Think Secret was the ruler of the rumor-roost, 'reign' is probably the better choice.
