We’re getting word this afternoon that longtime Mac news hound Stan Flack has passed away. For those of you not familiar with Stan, he founded the original MacCentral site, which later was acquired by our own parent company, MacPublishing, and folded into Macworld.com. Stan later went on to create a second Mac news site, MacMinute. His death was the result of complications of a pre-existing condition.
Over at Macworld, Jim Dalrymple, who was a friend of Stan’s and an editor at MacCentral, has penned some thoughts on Stan’s passing. Macworld editor Peter Cohen, who’s also a MacCentral alum, has written a fine post at his own blog, and Dennis Sellers, another former MacCentral contributor, has also put up a post at Macsimum News.
While I never had the chance to meet Stan, I was a reader of both MacCentral and MacMinute for many years, and I know he’ll be sorely missed by the Mac community. We here at MacUser extend our condolences to all of Stan’s family, friends, and fans.
I'm heartbroken. Stan was fantastic. I loved working for him and writing for MacCentral. I loved him dearly. We still had plans...
