David Pogue, writing for the New York Times, has done a roundup review of 802.11n routers. Since the original Airport Base Station, I’ve been pretty disappointed with all of Apple’s networking hardware until now. The new base station with cutting edge speed and range as well as much more feature complete configuration options has really gotten a hold of me. It’s gotten a hold of David as well.
He likes its speed and superior configuration software (not browser based). It offers the 5 GHz option as well as hard drive and printer sharing. That said, getting through the comparison review and documented his trials and tribulations. Netgear put him through hell with their configuration software. It’s definitely a funny read.
Thanks Derrik. That was a surprisingly amusing read, and anyone who has installed anything on windows can attest to his tribulations.
