I’ve been waiting patiently for the promised premium NewsGator membership that I’ve been anticipating. The latest beta 2.1b32 will now facilitate that process, instantly giving you access to their mobile edition. It also means at least two years of free updates.
All existing NetNewsWire users get two years paid subscription for free—and they get all updates to NetNewsWire during those two years. Even if we release 3.0, 4.0, 63.0, whatever.
After the two years are up, your copy of NetNewsWire will continue to work. This is not subscription software, where the app itself stops working.
I’m sure that’s a great relief to many users. Subscription software can be really obnoxious, particularly when you don’t want to use NewsGator’s services and stay standalone. I am interested in the possibility of version 63.0 though.
