I don’t really understand what the big deal is about unboxing (like that’s even a word!) pictures of Apple hardware but apparently a lot of people do care. Some folks over in Japan received their MacBook Air in the retail packaging during a remote Macworld Expo presentation and have posted pictures online of the grand ceremony of taking it out of the box. Lo, the whole Internet is abuzz, as though aliens had landed and returned Elvis to us.
If you feel the need to drool over some pictures of the sleek black package being gingerly opened and the wafer-thin gadget being plucked out, you now have the opportunity to quench your whatever it’s called. Of course, it cannot be the unboxing of the MacBook Air if someone does not insert it into an envelope as soon as it is out of the box, so they have that covered too.
Meanwhile, we’ll move over to the more important stories like global warming and the need to conserve water and fuel. Or maybe the unboxing of that new iPod nano that was just released.
… *Oops!*
