Two of Apple’s products have received top honors in the 2008 Technology of the Year Awards by InfoWorld. While Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard grabbed the award for being the best operating system, the second-to-none, tastefully designed MacBook Pro won the award for being the best notebook computer money can buy. The others didn’t stand much of a chance either, given that this is the better of the only two notebooks that can run the aforementioned best operating system.
The one name that was conspicuous due to its absence was the iPhone. While the Nokia E61i was awarded the “best mobile handset for the enterprise” award, there was no coronation for the mobile handset that made all other handsets look like puny little calculators. It’s a shame indeed, because the iPhone would have been a shoo-in for that award. Well, I guess we can enjoy what we’ve got. I’m particularly happy to report that I’m using the best operating system on the best notebook computer right now.
