Normally, when some new toy comes out, I just sell my old toys. I do this for things like MacBooks, iPods and iPhones. But you know, it can be annoying to deal with Craigslist and eBay, in that it just takes time to write the ad and deal with emails and the like.
But if you’re going to be tossing out an old iPod or iPhone anytime soon in order to snag one of those snazzy 3G puppies, you might want to check out Flipswap.
Basically, it’s a site that helps you take your phone down to cell phone stores who will give you in-store credit for a trade-in, or you can ship it (they’ll even cover shipping), or you can just donate it to charity for that warm and fuzzy feeling.
Lifehacker says that the site is offering about $200 for those first-gen iPhones — based on what I’ve seen on Craigslist these days that seem pretty fair.
Let us know how you make out if you take Flipswap for a spin, ya hear?
