Apparently Muxtape has been popular for over a month now, but I just heard about it. Call me an old fogey. Anyhow, it’s probably the most useful social networking site I’ve come across. The idea is simple: upload up to 12 songs, rearrange them to your liking and share your Muxtape URL with your friends. They’ll be able to listen to your Muxtape songs in entirety just by clicking on them!
Check out my Muxtape, and if you like the idea, create your own! Share your music and spread the love (before the RIAA shuts this site down).
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun. (Plus, we've got columns by Andy Ihnatko!)

How is this legal?
@krye Really, I have no idea. That's part of the fun!
@krye--
I guess they figure cuz they put the "buy this mp3" thing on it.
I don't think it is legal, hell it's not even original, imeem has been doing this and it launched in 2004. Everything that muxtape is doing today is what imeem was doing a couple of years ago, soon enough they got big enough to attract the attention of the record business. They got sued, and then someone at imeem must've used their Jedi mind tricks on the lawyers because the case was dropped and instead the record company invested in imeem and let them do it legally (in exchange for 50% of the advertising)
