Macworld puts the Mac Pro Eight-Core 2.8GHz through its paces

Here at the MacUser headquarters in outer space, it is our duty as nosey bloggers to amuse you with juicy tidbits from around the Mac universe; meanwhile, the Mothership carries out its task of inundating you with the cold, hard facts about the latest and greatest in hardware, backed by all those geeky numbers. So it was only a matter of time before they hauled one of those new eight-core Mac Pros into their labs and put it through rigorous testing.
If you’re currently in the market for a Mac, and have that kind of moolah, the eight-core is right up your alley. After having reviewed the 2.8GHz eight-core Mac Pro, Macworld concludes that it “won’t disappoint” you, if you’re one of those content-creating professional types who can get away with as much as you want to spend as long as it is for “work.” Check out the full review if you want a thorough account of the various benchmark tests this machine was put through and to see how it stacks up against the previous model.
