MacBook benchmarks

MacBookIt’s been only a day since Apple’s new MacBook came out, but already it’s been benchmarked. Geek Patrol has benchmarked the 2GHz MacBook compared to the 2GHz MacBook Pro (with 2GB of RAM). All of the tests were done with Geekbench, Geek Patrol’s benchmarking software. Surprisingly, on many of the tests the MacBook actually fared better than it’s Pro sibling. The MacBook Pro did best on the Stream Performance tests, while the MacBook did best on the Floating Point Performance tests. Overall, these benchmarks show the the MacBook is a really sweet deal for the amount of performance it’s capable of for it’s price. Still, if you plan on getting a desktop replacement laptop like me, the MacBook Pro seems more capable of running faster and better, and it has a larger screen size to boot.
