Grainy screen on the 15” MacBook Pro

200612061433According to a report from Le MacBidouille, a French Mac news site, the 15” MacBook Pro is experiencing some production delays on account of a grainy screen. According to Electronista, the problem is only affecting matte screen models and the glossy versions are continuing to ship as normal. A visit to the US online Apple Store confirms this, as matte screen models have a 1-3 business day shipping time, where as glossy models have a 24-hour shipping time. If you’re considering ordering a MacBook Pro with a matte screen in time for holiday delivery, better act fast.

When I ordered my glossy screen MBP, it showed a wait time of 2-3 days. However, shortly after it went to two weeks! Perhaps the problem affects both models? Happily, my two weeks are up on Friday. Hope that it ships on time...
