Your iPod: Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

Hide-a-podWe’ve all heard the stories about iPods being targets for theft. I sometimes wonder how true they are, given the widespread nature of iPods nowadays, but some people prefer to take extra security precautions and I can’t really blame them. The trouble is while it’s easy enough to conceal your iPod when you’re not using it, if you want to listen to your music while you’re out and about, it’s harder to keep it hidden.

But what if you could disguise your iPod as something people wouldn’t want to steal? Some have tried this with mints containers or fake books, but even your average thug might look twice at headphone cables snaking out of one of those.

So put it instead in a $30 Hide-a-pod, carefully constructed from a Microsoft Zune.

It’s really very simple. Just tell us what iPod model you want to protect and we provide a gutted and hinged Zune with our custom molded iPod casing adapter. We also include a custom cable from the Zune’s controls (see FAQ) and audio output jack that you simply plug into your iPod. No iPod modifications are necessary.
Genius.

Yes, we know it’s a joke. If you go to the Order page, it just generates bogus Microsoft error codes. And they say at the bottom of the page: “This is all just a big gag and you couldn’t order a Hide-a-Pod if you wanted to. So there.”
