Ahoy, me hearties, we’d be remiss for not remindin’ you that today is National Talk Like A Pirate Day. While perhaps not strictly Mac-related, I’m sure you all be glad to know that if you’d like to get yer pirate on, that’s more than easy—it’s dead simple.
I went over to the English-to-Pirate translator and popped in MacUser to see what I might find. Here’s the pirate in us reviewing “shivering kittens” (psychically titled “Shiver me kittens”) earlier today:
Normally, an email whose subject line contained th’ phrase “shiverin’ kittens” would go straight into th’ big mailbox labeled “spam.” But ou’ o’ some strange curiosity I clicked on ‘t an’ found that shiverin’ kittens be nay, as I had thought, an attempt t’ get me t’ buy an amazin’ stock deal, but in fact a Mac shareware game (named, arr, by e.e. cummings) in which ye rescue—ye guessed ‘t—shiverin’ kittens from a fate roughly equivalent t’ Davy Jones’ locker. In this case, Davy Jones’ locker by freezing.Avast ye, landlubbers. Raise a cup o’ grog to celebrate this very highest of holidays. I’ll be off with a wee dram of rum. Whoops, slipped into Scottish there…
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
