Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em, you can’t deny that the Get a Mac ad campaign is one of Apple’s most successful ever. A testament to that success are the hundreds of spoof videos on YouTube inspired by the inseparable duo of Justin Long and John Hodgman.
Heather Havenstein, over at our Computerworld cousins, has compiled a list of what she deems are the ten funniest Mac vs. PC YouTube videos. The first one is the professionally produced rap song we’ve mentioned before. With lyrics like this, how can you go wrong? “Take a look at Vista, enjoy the view. I suggest Premium or the ultimate skew [sic]. Cop a Dell with a graphics card—super fast.” The Mac raps back that “Tiger’s fast as hell, but Leopard’s got the boom. Time machine is mad mean. You’re absurd—what’s a Zune?”
I watched a couple of them and they were pretty funny and creative. If you’ve been feeling low on the humor quota today, this one ought to cheer you right up. Let us know if you have a particular favorite that they missed.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
