Apple’s ergonomics page could use some updating

Posted by David Dahlquist | Monday, April 21, 2008 12:30 PM PT

ergonomics.jpgIt’s estimated that the average American spends around 900 hours a week sitting in front of a computer. While this number may not be the most conservative estimate (or theoretically possible), it underlies the importance of ergonomics, or, how not to screw up your back, neck, and wrists from sitting in front of a computer all day.

Apple cares about your health and well-being enough to have a special section of their website devoted to ergonomics. The funny thing is, their ergonomics page seems to have been designed in the 80’s, and not updated since! Seriously, is that an Apple II the neck-pain guy is using? Check it out for a good laugh.

Wow, now that is some funky, cheesy old clip-art. And I thought the clip-art in MS Office was bad!

Yeah, seriously Apple, update it.

You said, "It's estimated that the average American spends around 900 hours a week sitting in front of a computer."

Where I live there are only 168 hours in a week. 900 hours a week seems excessive.

You're obviously not working as hard as the rest of us. Slacker!
