Our neighbors across the pond may have spilled the beans on new Mac Pros. Once Intel announced four core (aka quad core) processors, we all knew it was likely on a matter of time before they made it into the behemoth Mac Pro. Anandtech even went so far as to install the processors themselves into a current Mac Pro, showing that it would be trivial for Apple to upgrade the line.
Eagle eyed Mac fans shopping the UK Apple store spotted what appears to have been a typo. “Now quad-core or 8-core processing power.” read the description for the Mac Pro. You might also remember the same thing happening when the G5 made its debuted (turning my MDD into a very loud, very obsolete machine).
The test is now gone from the site, but not our minds and hearts. Either these new desktops are coming really soon, or that text is in preparation of NAB, where Apple’s holding a special event. Then again, maybe someone just got confused.
