Following hot on the heals of a $200 price drop for the 20” iMac G5, the 17” iMac G5 has gone AWOL from the Apple store. So much for the equivalent pricing between PowerPC and Intel models.
Anyone else wonder what will happen to the Powerbooks one the MacBook Pros are released into the wild?
The funny thing is that I bought a 17" iMac G5 two days before they dropped the price on the 20". I'm not one to be an early adopter so I gave the ICBM a miss. The shop was nice enough to exchange my 17" for a 20" for the extra $200.
I hope they can charge back that 17" since it doesn't seem likely they'll be able to sell a discontinued model anytime soon.
