Clearly, Steve Jobs is not a fan of mysteries. I mean, except for every product Apple ever announces. Besides that, though, Steve is all about transparency. For example, he likes his windows see-through, rather than opaque. In an interview with the New York Times this morning, Steve primarily discussed Snow Leopard, but he also took the time out to explain the move Apple made earlier this year in acquiring chipmaker PA Semi.
“PA Semi is going to do system-on-chips for iPhones and iPods,” [Jobs] said.
Well. There we go, I guess. It certainly seems like it would be in Apple’s interests to control the production of chips that are so near and dear to their heart. So check off another box on Apple’s goal of making the whole widget.
The rest of the interview is worth a quick read if you’re interested about Snow Leopard, though you won’t find too much that we haven’t already discussed.
I like the name . . . it will save lots of time over the years . . . me vs mac = 33% snappier!
