My poor little iBook died yesterday. The screen turned into a pastel barcode and several minutes later the display was entirely gone-sounds like logic board failure to me. Anyways, I made an appointment at the Genius Bar and a few short hours later I was giving the resident Genius my shipping and contact information for a repair. Now, I don't do well without a laptop at my disposal (sad, I know), so I asked if they had any loaner machines I could use during the repair period. Unfortunately, all they had in the back was a couple refreshed MacBook Pros; I told the guy I guess that would be OK.
I was ecstatic. I would get a chance to try out a MacBook Pro and play around until my heart's content or until my iBook is fixed, which ever comes first. My plan is to try out some Photoshop and Word usage via Rosetta, as well as maybe try to get Windows XP up and running. Unfortunately, I haven't cross-graded my Final Cut Studio yet so I can't test out the speed of Universal Final Cut. I'll keep you updated on my MacBook Pro experiences. So far it's great!
