Get your Apple TV upgraded professionally

Apple TV Hard Drive Upgrade Yesterday, I brought you a report that some users were successful in upgrading the hard drive built into the Apple TV. I was intimidated by the replacement procedure as well as the warranty voiding. Two companies have decided to capitalize on what will clearly be a common practice.

TechRestore and iResq are both offering their services in performing the transplant (including supplies and labor).

TechRestore

60GB Storage Upgrade: $99.99 80GB Storage Upgrade: $149.99 100GB Storage Upgrade: $169.99 120GB Storage Upgrade: $179.99 160GB Storage Upgrade: $219.99 Shipping Costs (USA I assume) Self-ship with return overnight shipping - $19 Door-to-door with overnight pickup/return - $49

iResq (including shipping)

160GB - $299 120GB - $259 80GB - $209

The two companies explain the warranty issues differently. TechRestore says the warranty is completely voided while iResq says only the drive itself isn’t covered. I’m going to lean in favor of the former and what just seems more logical. I’m personally going to wait and see what issues shake out of this service, including software upgrade and heat issues.

We have been selling pre-upgraded Apple TVs with 120GB drive at PowerMax.com for a few days now. Our 120 upgrade is only $449. Still these other two options are good for the people who already own an Apple TV. I have a pics / info page here: http://www.powermax.com/articles_reviews/
