Speeding Computer just put together a list of the 25 coolest/weirdest keyboards. Keyboards come in more forms than you can count. Before you get too worried, Apple’s on the list… twice. Ringing in at 12 is the most recent revision of Apple’s text entry peripheral. They think it’s beautiful (and I agree, but that’s not the only reason I use it).
The other Apple keyboard worthy of an honor is not the obvious Apple Extended Keyboard II that everyone used to rave about. No, number 7 is actually the Apple Adjustable Keyboard, the keyboard I used with my family’s first Mac, a Quadra 660av. It was really comfortable, truth be told. Plus, I loved spreading the parts around the hinge.
I suggest browsing the list for more exotic options. Just to prove my geekdom, I will note I know someone that uses the DataHand Professional II. It’s hypnotic to watch its use.
