With the introduction of the Mac Pro, Xserve, and Leopard on everybody’s minds, Apple’s taken the opportunity to make some other, more subtle, changes to its lineup by cutting prices on its LCD displays.
Perhaps it’s finally come time to replace the clunky CRT on my desktop. My glossy MacBook LCD screen has spoiled me, so going back to 1024x768 resolution, well, it burns. The price drops should help me out, though. The 20” goes down $100 from $799 to $699, while the 23” has dropped $300 from $1299 to $999 and the behemoth of a 30” has come down to just $1999 from $2499.
$999 for a 23” widescreen display is certainly tempting. Then again, perhaps I need to curb my technology addiction.
