Apple TVs away!

Pallet dropYou know, it’s nice to see that Apple has decided to make amends for delaying the Apple TV by personally delivering each and every unit by pallet drop. So if you’ve ordered one of these suckers, head outside—but watch your step! Those pallets can be heavy. We’d hate for you to get hurt.

Okay, so maybe they’re delivering them by old-fashioned truck. You’re missing the important point here: the Apple TV is now shipping. I’ve got mixed feelings about it: on the one hand, I’m glad that Apple got it out the door; on the other, I really wanted to know what Scott was going to do. I hear it involved a butane torch, a bunny suit, and epoxy.

Anyway, a number of our readers have confirmed that their Apple TVs are now shipping, and several also pointed us to the Apple Store page, where a 3-5 day ship time is now listed. There were rumors that the units might be showing up in brick-and-mortar Apple Stores today as well; if I get a chance, I may wheel my way over and see if there’s any truth to that.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to head over to the shelter as I prepare for the inevitable deluge of unboxing pictures.
