Apple desktops get top ratings from Consumer Reports

iMacIt’s always an honor for a company to have one of their products featured in a Consumer Reports magazine. The publication is touted as highly unbiased, mostly because it doesn’t contain a single advertisement. Thus when a company’s product is looked upon favorably by Consumer Reports, it’s generally a big compliment. Such is the case with Apple’s iMac, which was recently featured on the front of Consumer Reports.

Among the reports contained in the magazine, there were ratings on both desktop and laptop computers. While no laptop computers stood out of the crowd as either reliable or unreliable, some desktop computers did, and those were Apple’s. The survey contained over 950,000 participants and spanned nearly four years, from 2002 to mid-2006. So while laptops may be the best-selling and most convenient computers to own, if you want reliability, you know where to look.
