Ah, it was only yesterday when our beloved Airport Express got the 802.11n bump.
In all the excitement, we neglected to point out that Macworld’s own crack team of Breen and Frakes put their heads together to take a look at the newest entry in Apple’s wireless lineup. It turns out, though, there’s not much to get excited about.
So, to sum up, other than the existence of the faster 802.11n networking and the trickling down of a few minor features from the latest AirPort Extreme Base Station, there’s not a lot to see here. Regardless, the AirPort Express was a good bet to begin with and adding greater range and speed hardly diminishes its advantages. We’ll be taking an official look at Apple’s latest wireless appliance soon.
Sounds like more to get excited about than the latest MacBook speed bump.
Seems like there should be to add a hard drive and additional printers to this thing. I hope someone can hack it to make it be more useful and economic.
