Your iPod paints me blue

iPod Bluetooth modHere we are, in the year 2008—a mere two years from the year we make contact—and still most iPods lack any sort of wireless capability. And, frankly, those that do have it, like the iPod touch, hardly take full advantage of it. It’s about time we change that, right?

One daring user has decided to take matters into his or her own hands by modding a 4th Generation iPod to include internal Bluetooth support (it’d also been updated with a 4GB flash drive already, so it may very well be the most supercharged iPod in the world). If you manage to complete this task without destroying your iPod, you’ll be able to reap the benefits of wireless music listening without any pesky attached dongles hanging off your iPod’s dock-connector port. Then again, unless you’re pretty secure in your hacking skills, you may also end up with a bricked iPod, so I might suggest not performing this surgery unless you’re willing to risk being iPod-less.

Much as I’d like to have internal Bluetooth in an iPod, the last time I tried soldering anything, I ended up with both physical and emotional scarring.
