We’ve expounded on a potential marriage between Apple and Nintendo before, from the entirely speculative to the user-created. For those with a DIY streak, here’s a match made in heaven: one clever person managed to turn an original NES controller into an Apple Remote and posted the steps for accomplishing the same feat over at Instructables.
Following along isn’t for the inexperienced, however: among the list of tools you’ll need are a soldering iron, a Dremel, and the ever-important safety goggles. Howver, when you finish, you will have a fully functional Apple Remote encased in an NES controller, making you the envy of all of your retro-gaming Mac-head enthusiasts. Or, in other words, the only people whose envy really means anything in this world.
And just in case you’re curious about how well the two fit together (like Oreos and milk, I tell you!), check out this video showing off the final result.
