We’ve seen the videos demoing all the advances in multitouch, gesture-based manipulation technology that is slowly bringing the finger-lickin’ fun to personal computers.
Now, a crazzzyyy genius by the name of Christian Moore created an open-source framework called Lux for using a full-screen multitouch display to control OS X — or, he claims, any PC operating system. It allows for advanced UI design and manipulation throughout an OS and even web browsers.
Check the Gizmodo post for a video demo and images, and an interview with Moore with some interesting info, including this nifty nugget:
JD: So anyone can grab the framework and make native multitouch apps right in Mac OS X or Windows or Linux.CM: Yeah. We have an Xcode-developed app for photo and paint coming, as well as a tracking application. But using Flash for this demo was the fastest way for us at the moment.
I’m already developing a multitouch program using Lux: It’s a unique concept app designed to identify and locate individuals who will commit a crime in the future.
Wait, Minority Report joke. Damn.

Sorry, that idea is already patented and in use by me.
But I already knew you'd try if I never posted this, so I'm coming to get you.
