Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good MacBook at your side

MacSaberOn Thursday, before I left for a decidedly non-sunny jaunt to upstate New York, I took the plunge and ordered a brand new MacBook. As we speak (well, as you read), it is winging its way to me from China, borne by the angels of FedEx.

And so, I spent my spare time this weekend thinking about what I would do with my new MacBook when I got it. There’s so much I avoid doing on my iBook, because I know how it feels about, say, any type of video played at full speed. But I hadn’t really started to think about using the new features of the MacBook that I could put to use: I finally have Bluetooth for syncing with my cellphone, and FrontRow for watching videos on my TV.

And, of course, the Sudden Motion Sensor. So I present to you, ladies and gentlemen, the first app that will make its way onto my new MacBook: MacSaber. Some have harnessed the powers of the SMS for security’s sake, but that’s nothing compared to swinging your laptop around to generate a full-range of lightsaber sound effects.

Now, all that remains is for you all to join me…and together, we will rule the Internet as, erm, bloggers and readers!

Congrats on the purchase of the new macbook. You'll have to let us know your impressions. I love my ancient powerbook, but I admit that I hear the siren call of the new macbook...
