Gift Idea: Dough, dinero, moolah, cha-ching, cash, moneyyy

money.jpgThe other day, a friend from Macteens asked me for ideas for the site’s Christmas gift guide. I of course had no ideas since I A) am no longer a teen and thus cannot in good conscience say “this is what a teen would like” and B) am a terrible gifter/ee — I never know what to give, and I never know what to say when people ask what I want. Really: gifts make Christmas a pain in the ass.

But then it hit me: what should any Mac user get for Christmas? What’s more important than a Mac, more important an iPod or iPhone or Apple TV or software or anything? What could possibly make a Mac user smile with glee for many months to come?

Money.

Think about it. It’s not what products you can get now that Mac users are drooling over…it’s what Steve’s going to announce at Macworld Expo in January that we’re all saving up for.

And what with ever-building rumors of Apple finally announcing a sub-notebook, along with the standard rumblings of updated iPhones and iPods and other goodies, Mac User Christmas really doesn’t come until January 15th, the day of Steve Jobs’ famed Macworld keynote.

I’d come up with some great poem about Keynote Eve and not a peripheral was stirring and blah blah blah, but I’m really not that clever. Maybe I’ll write one up on Keynote Eve. That gives me about a month to work on it.
