Enterprising Mac user Dan Bowles has posted some pictures to his Flickr account that purportedly show the red LED in Apple’s Mighty Mouse actually projecting the image of a mouse (the furry, four-legged variety).
Now, we’re no strangers to the wonderful world of Photoshop. Can any of our readers with a Mighty Mouse confirm or debunk this spectral rodent image from beyond? (Strangely appropriately, the Ghostbusters theme song has come on my iPod while writing this.)

Update: Several of our readers have confirmed below that the mouse is, in fact, in the house. You’re so playful, Apple.
WOW, yes its true, it does actually reflect a image of a mouse, i just tried it with lights out, on abit of an angle you can see a mouse!
While reading this post, I switched off my lights and out of curiosity lifted my one button Apple mouse. Imagine my surprise when that same mouse greeted me.
My mouse was from mid 2005, so I don't know how far back this easter egg, accidental or otherwise, goes.
Simply lift the mouse and tilt it forward a bit to test if you have a red mouse lurking under your mouse.
I had never noticed it before, but apparently the image projected is in fact a mouse-looking symbol. As soon as I read this article, I picked up my Mighty Mouse to check it out for myself. There are indeed two "eyes" and "ears." I believe if I had the time I could recreate the same image as the one attached. Very interesting!
Yes, this image actually appears when you use Mighty Mouse to "project" on a wall, etc.
that is indeed the image made by the mighty mouse.
I have a cheap regular Apple mouse (the flat one with one button only) and I also have the ghost projection :p
Yes. It's true
YES! I want this Mouse!!
I love Apple! )))
I've the same expierence too.

Wow, cool! :)
Real device =))
