If you’re a Digg fan, you’re probably aware of Kevin Rose’s MacBook with the Digg logo etched into it. You might also remember the girl that sold ad space on her MacBook Pro. Did you jealously look on? Apple may let you etch a small phrase onto an iPod, but what about your Mac or putting a design on there?
Engrave offers this as a service. The samples are simply stunning. The pricing isn’t half bad either $100-150 for a laptop, $50 for an iPod or smartphone, and $35 for a cell phone or nano. I’m too much of a fan of the clean look of my toys technology and far too afraid of letting a laser go to town on them to ever use the service myself. If you’ve got the fortitude and the idea, it seems like something fun to do. You could always get Steve Jobs’ face burned onto your laptop. I bet the eyes would even follow you.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
