I’ll admit it. I’ve been steadily playing World of Warcraft for a while now. I started with a night elf druid, but I had so little idea what I was doing that I kept dying over and over. I got the Burning Crusade expansion pack, promptly created a blood elf hunter and I haven’t looked back. Now that I’m finally approaching end game, I’m thinking about creating a new character, but I want it to be in a guild associated with my other addiction interest, Macs.
I fired up Google and started searching for Mac guilds. Considering the number of servers and players, I thought there’d be a number of them, but I’ve found but one. Shout out to the Reservoir Dogcows. It looks like a healthy guild, but here’s the thing. I like the Horde better than the Alliance. I’ve given up on the idea of finding a Horde Mac user guild on my home server (Nordrassil).
That said, it’s something I’d still like to join. Do any of my well informed readers know of such a guild? If not, is anyone interested in starting one up?
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
Well, we are not an Mac only guild but The Elders is made up of MOSTLY Mac users, including almost all of our founding members.
Unfortunately for you we are on Mok'Nathal though.
Shield of Azeroth on the Alleria server started off as Shield of Norrath on Mac Everquest. We are now cross platform, but we support both equally. Unfortunately for you however, we are Alliance.
Why don't you create a guild ? :-p
A few friends of mine and I started on Bonechewer. Can't say we're a "healthy guild" since it's just the three of us, but the three of us use macs :)

One of the great things about WoW is that Blizzard got it right where it counts: once you log in, the differences between Mac and pc are effectively transparent.
I've been in several guilds and in the rare circumstance that OS bubbles up, I've seen a natural smattering of Mac users just about everywhere. Heck, even with "The Instance" (one of the most popular WoW podcasts), the regular host is a horde/Mac guy.
For me, FWIW, OS is way down the list on good things to look for in a guild. Your milage may obviously vary.
Noob.
Hehe, just kidding. I have no right to call anyone a noob! Anyway Council of Elders on the Khadgar realm has quite a few mac users in its membership, including me. But as Erik said, Blizzard got it right by making the OS transparent. I find it fun sometimes to get into the whole Mac/PC debate with Guildies every once in a while. Makes for more interesting game play. (Hrm... that mage was talking smack about the Mac, and he's stealing aggro all the time... shall I save him or let him die??)
Yes, I have to agree that when it comes to playing the game that although I love Mac stuff I would rather just play with people who play WoW well and who are polite. Being polite should be a new profession in the expansion.
There were more Mac oriented guilds at launch than there are now. I think that the many many Wow Server have really served to mix mac users in with PC users.
When I first started WoW, I played with my EQmac friends from the Guild Sanctuary over on Whisperwind. The guild that we created broke up a year ago, and many of us moved to Scarlet Crusade, and others stayed on Whisperwind or moved to Stormscale.
I also played Horde side with my other EQmac friends who were part of the guild "The Horde" there and started Oath on Argent Dawn. Unfortunately, that guild has disappeared from AD.
Basically every guild I have been in has had some Mac users in it. So it has never been an issue for me.
PS big shout out to Shield of Azeroth(Norrath) :D
