Neverwinter Nights 2 It’s not often that we have enough Mac gaming stories to qualify it as a “bonanza” but today is one of those days.

Magic: The Gathering is coming to the Mac. It’s originally a fantasy-themed strategy card game. There are few details of how the game will look and play, but the existing onine version has attracted 350,000 players. [One hopes it doesn’t spawn the same sort of addiction as the real-life versions. I’ve still got a few hundred cards sitting in a box, which reminds me: anybody interested in buying? -DM]

Quazal is middleware aimed at assisting Mac game developers to quickly and easily add online components to their games. There are components for multiplayer play, online lobbies, and a skinnable lobby. It’s a cross-platform product, which hopefully translates to more cross-platform ports.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is finally coming to the Mac. I remember taking the original for a test drive when it came to the Mac. It never quite gripped me, but it’s absolutely great news for fans of the game. Like the original version, it lacks the tool for creating adventure “Modules”, but will be able to use created modules.
