Ambrosia software, the company responsible for games such as SketchFighter 4000, has decided to bring a Windows game over to the Mac. Aquaria, originally developed by Bit Blot and winner of the “Independent Games Festival’s Seumas McNally Grand Prize award”, is described as follows:

Aquaria is an action-oriented, non-linear side-scrolling game that uses an innovative and intuitive mouse control system. Through a real-time interface, Naija can sing songs that cast spells. With practice, these spells can be cast easily to interact with the environment, solve puzzles, or combine them for strategic effect during combat. Certain spells will allow you to change form, creating new ways of playing the game depending on the form chosen.

The PC version of this game hasn’t been completed yet, but Ambrosia is apparently already hard at work creating the Mac port. No word yet on when it’ll be available. If you want to learn more, you can view some screenshots, watch the game’s trailer, or visit Bit Blot’s Aquaria page.
