Steve Jobs has his own Lego minifig; so does Woz. But if you happen to have $198.99 just burning a hole in your pocket, you can acquire the pièce de resistance plastique: a recreation of Apple’s landmark 1984 television ad entirely in Legos. Not only does it include the intrepid blonde hammer-wielding heroine of the movie (pursued by black-helmeted thugs), but it even has a backlit screen with a menacing Big Brother minifig. Just think of the hour of fun you can have, recreating the Apple ad that started it all.
But why’s it so expensive? Because it’s exclusive.
Parts to create the 1984 Playset are expensive and difficult to come by and manufacturing each unit by hand is very time consuming. A low run of 100 units makes this one of our most exclusive products. Previous PodBrix items have commanded a high-price when resold in the collector’s market so I feel this work is a safe investment from a collector standpoint. There you have it: only 100 made. They’re available as of 9PM EST tonight, so get yours while you can.
