I know it seems like things have been a little slow in the Mac world lately, and that’s true: news has been rather on the lean side. But fear not: there is an end in sight. One month from today, Steve Jobs will take the stage at Moscone West and explain to us—carefully and gently—how he will continue to part us from our hard-earned dollars.
We’re saving our run of predictions for when we get closer to the main event, but many ideas have been floating around the web about what we might see on June 11th. We know that a feature-complete version of Leopard (perhaps including its now legendary “top secret” features) will make an appearance, and we expect a few more details on the iPhone, which is still expected to ship next month. Will we finally see something new in the Mac department, beyond mere speedbumps?
We hope to have a MacUser representative at the keynote itself, bringing us up-to-the-minute news from Steve’s mouth to your ears. Eyes. So, dear readers, what could Steve show you that would convince you to dig out your wallets?
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
i'm definitely ready for a redesigned mac pro and monitor!
A reasonably priced large LED-backlit display with integrated iSight camera.
Or an iPhone without a camera.
How about iLied? An application that can give you lies about how you spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on Apple stuff. This way, you can continue feeding these lies to your wife. Of course it would have to be password protected to prevent wife to enter said software.
And last but not least... Apple should team up with Nintendo so we can have access to iTunes on the wii. It would have to communicate with the Apple TV and iPhone. We can have a channel called the Apple channel. Everytime we are on the wii and our iPhone is somewhere in your pocket, the wii will let us answer while pressing the 1 or 2 button. It would work with a wireless headset (while listening to our iTunes playlist) while not losing a beat on a game.
OK, I'm awake now!
The timing for WWDC is awful for me -- I start my final exams on June 14th, and I also have big exams in the days leading up to it. Painful.
I hear that SJ will be demoing two of Leopards top secret features: Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pepto Max for when you have heartburn, upset stomach, diarrhea.
I think Apple has waited just a little too long. I'm completely bored.
So I'm going to go out on a limb and say the iphone G2. I'm sick of G1.
Actually, if they would make a flip phone in the style of the ipod nano I'd be happy. If it made calls.
