Nothing this cool ever happens at my local Apple Store. Maybe once they finish the Back Bay store. Meanwhile, the Soho Apple Store gets all the fun stuff. Next week, on August 29th, director Michel Gondry will visit the New York store as part of a continuing series in conjunction with indieWIRE.com. Gondry’s best known film is probably Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; his next feature is called The Science of Sleep, which he’ll be discussing at the Soho Store event.
I’m a big fan of Eternal Sunshine, which had some truly amazing visuals, and I expect The Science of Sleep to be likewise interesting, from what I’ve seen of it. Gondry, whose collaborators include the likes of Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze, is a talented director, and it’s good to see him making an appearance at an Apple Store; maybe they can get him to direct one of their next commercials. Something a little slicker than that Intel transition one.
[Thanks, Jeff!]
